'I'm just a penny on the train track'

(Title lyric from Ben Kweller)

Well hello stranger! Man, I've been working my little butt off waitressing. I worked everyday this weekend and Father's Day was crazy, but I made a TON of money so I am perfectly okay with that. So that is where I have been, running around like a mad woman delivering wrong orders to people because I am probably the worst waitress ever. Ooops.

Anyway, I live literally next door to these train tracks(thank god the train only comes through once around noontime because that thing is LOUD) and have been wanting to take photos here for like ever. I always love when people take photos by train tracks. It gives the photos a kind of vagabond feel, like the person in them is on their way to hop aboard a moving train and stowaway.
Sometimes I wish I could lead the vagabond/nomad life and just see where life takes me, but with responsibilities and bills to be paid, unfortunately that could never be the case.

Also, expect to see me in longer skirts now. I love this calf length and even though it is mad hot outside these flowy things keep it breezy and comfy, not to mention that my legs don't stick to my hot leather car seats which is always a plus!I just bought a ton at the thrift store in so many great colors and prints, can't wait to show them all!!

  1. love these photos! what a cool spot. and i know all about how loud trains are, one comes by my house less than a mile away and it's loud so i can't imagine how bad it would be next door. actually the train is going by right now! anyway, you look awesome in a longer skirt. i wish i had the legs for it, but skirts that length cut me off in a bad place. you however look great!

  14. What cool pics! The train tracks are an awesome backdrop (just be careful!!) I'm loving the recent fashion shift towards longer skirts, it looks great how you styled it with a simple tank to keep it casual and summer chic.

  16. i love train track photos too! trust me, i've thought of ways to live that vagabond lifestyle-- sell my car, get rid of my phone, leave my apt-- but it's just not possible in this area of the world! we're too dependent on these things. i suppose you could go for that life, but living wouldn't be easy! you look beautiful and i love the calf length skirts.

  17. I love train track pictures too. Your train tracks are all nice and shady. The ones near me are just raised and sort of Old West desolate looking.
