That's right folks! I'm suffering from a nasty bout of poison ivy on my legs and feet. I guess I should have figured that trekking about in woods and overgrown fields to take pictures for my blog the nasty plant would catch up with me at some point. I've never had it before and MAN IT IS ITCHY! I cannot emphasize that point anymore!
Well since my legs are covered in lovely pink calamine lotion, I figured my new Norma Kamali maxi dress for Wal-mart should get some use. I did have to chop a few inches off the bottom (I'm tall at 5'9'' and this puppy was loooong, I'm not sure even a giantess would fit comfortably), but at the price and at the expense of it being a comfy jersey fabric, I was immediately sold. I',m also rockin' the military trend right now, which I really dig because I get to wear my fatigue-like jacket I bought at Forever 21 ages ago and my new combat boots! It almost makes up for the fact that I am in agony. Any poison ivy remedies out there you guys know of? I'd greatly appreciate it!

Go buy some of those aveeno oatmeal bath sachets. They are so soothing! When we were younger, my sisters and brother and I all got chicken pox at the same time, and the only thing my mom could find to soothe our scratching was aveeno bath. However, we were on vacation and without a bathtub, so somehow she plugged up the hole for the centerboard in the bottom of a small sail boat we had, and we all spent the weekend outside lying in it, covered in oatmeal!
ReplyDeleteyou are killing me right now. like killing me!!!! you look completely amazing. like old hollywood movie star amazing. love the outfit and the setting. so sad you got poison ivy though. i've never gotten it, but my dad does at least once or twice a year. once he got it on his face! yeah, it got all swollen and his eye kinda closed up. no good. but i know it must be miserable. but you just look so gorgeous. surely that makes up for the itching!
ReplyDeleteoh no! I hope it stops itching soon!! I don't know if it's true, since it's never happened to me before, but in the movie Coraline, the other mother put mud on her hand and it worked...haha ^.~

You look really awesome, and these photos look like a grunge fairytale or something. The military jacket and boots are really cool and pretty versatile.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your poison ivy. I'm surprised I haven't walked right into any with how much time I spend outside with outfit photos, thought my legs do look like a mosquito battlefield. It's pretty awesome that you still found a way to rock your style in spite of that.
you're beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could give you relief advice, but I found out this summer that I'm not allergic (or susceptible?) to poison ivy and the like...
ReplyDeleteThey do have a before you touch poison ivy product called "ivy x"... if you do not want to get it again, some people I work with use it.
you look beautiful (despite the itchiness)!

First of all I have to say that your hair is doing something fierce in these pictures. And secondly Poison Ivy seems absolutely horrendous, I have a weird friend that actually likes the feeling of it, which I will never understand, but to each their own right?
