Over the weekend Jeramy ventured into Boston to see Fashion Photographer, Richard Avedon's Exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts. A post focused more on Avedon's photography is in the works and I will talk more about that soon. I haven't been to a museum in what seems like ages and I'm so grateful Jeramy suggested the MFA as a date. I'd like to write some more about our brief trip into the city, but since I am still recovering from a bout of food poisoning from a little Indian food joint during our trip, that will have to wait. Until then, I'd like to know: What are some of your favorite museum memories?

  1. Nice photos. I love the MFA. I haven't been there since last Winter tho, & I heard they opened up a bunch of American Art galleries (my favorite!).

Definitely one of my favorite museum memories was visiting the Georgia O'Keeffe museum in Santa Fe. She's been my favorite artist since I first studied her in middle school & the museum had so many of her works, plus it was smack in the middle of the landscape she painted so well!

Hope you feel better soon! Food poisoning's the worst. Ick.

  2. Definitely my favourite is visiting the Last Supper in Milan when I was in the 9th grade. It was my 1st time to Europe, and we didn't even realize it was there or open for viewing, we just happened to hear about it, tacked onto a tour group and completely jumped the queue to stand mere feet in front of it. It was Amazing to think that he was right there centuries ago, touching the walls and floor. What a thrill!

  3. Gosh I haven't been to a museum in such a long time! I think it's high time I change that.

My favourite museum memory would have to be visiting the Museum of Natural History here in Halifax when I was 9 or 10. They had a live snake out to compliment some exhibit and I got to hold it. I was so surprised at how soft its skin was and how gracefully it moved!

  5. Every museum trip is a favorite memory! You see something different each time you visit... even if you're looking at the same painting. I saw a Monet exhibit once. It was beautiful. Something I'll never forget.

  6. Probably when I was 9 my class got to go and sleep the night in the Science Museum in London. Our very own night at the museum (not quite)
Also the first time I went to MOMA in NYC when I was 13, I was so entranced I lost my family for 2 hours without noticing. Plus visiting the V&A is always great... (I really like museums)
