Stick in the (rose)mud

I wanted to let you all in on the name of my blog. Growing up, our road used to be complete dirt. Every time after a big rain storm, a humongous puddle would form at the very end of it. As a kid, one of my favorite activities was to put on my bathing suit and literally slosh around in the muddy puddle. I cannot explain why I did this, I guess I just really enjoyed the feeling of the sloshy stuff between my toes. A family friend nicknamed me Rosemud after witnessing said activity. It was obviously a play on rosebud.

Why am I bringing this up now? Because, gosh darn it was it muddy out today! My heels were sinking in with every step I took! Normally, I wouldn't mind too much, but I really do like these Etienne Aigner spectator mary janes and paid pretty good money for them. Eek. I think they survived though.

Orange ya glad I found this sweater tee at Target for $3.50? Just the pop of color I needed on this rainy, gray day! This outfit was really inspired by Ralph Lauren's 2010 F/W Collection(see post on it here)

And of course It started to rain really heavy on me! Hey at least it isn't snow!(also if you squint you can kind of see my deer tattoo on my wrist)

Mud, mud, glorious mud.
Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood.
So follow me follow, down to the hollow
and there let us wallow in glorious mud

  4. That's a great story. I have a bad habit of wearing my favorite shoes in elements they should not have to endure. Hope your heels survived!

  11. I love this color palette with the pop of orange!!

Such a funny story. I loved jumping in puddles, but mostly so I could wear my rain boots!

Year after year, RL never fails to inspire me.
