THERAPEUTIC

Blog therapy is the best kind of therapy. Its free! In all seriousness, thanks to all my commenters who make me realize that I'm not the only person in the world to feel miserable from time to time. You all are the seriously nice people.
I've been making sure to get plenty of outside time in the sunshine as of late, and it has begun the revitalization process to a healthier (mentally and physically) me. I am finally starting to have more energy and rigor. It could not have begun any sooner, as I needed it for this past weekend. We had tickets for this year's Thing in the Spring, ran by a good man with excellent musical tastes, Eric Gagne from Peterborough, NH. It was a non-stop fun fest. The weather was grand the whole time, we checked out the Broke Affordable Arts Fair and ate grapefruit and cantaloupe gelato in the park in between shows. My favorite show was Brown Bird, from Rhode Island, a folky duo that evoked the eccentric Peterboro-ians to break out and square dance (and other interesting forms of dancing) and even one fellow roller-skated around the city hall room while banjos, upright basses, and guitars strummed. A lot of hard work and effort goes into the whole ordeal and I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to experience such fun times in a place where it feels mostly mundane 362 days of the year. 'Til next spring!

  2. I definitely have a hard time with being miserable. I find that if I focus on joy and not happiness and stay where my feet are (in my brain) it helps. This is just what works for me :)

  4. Inexplicably blue days can be the hardest - if you know what's upsetting you then you have a chance of trying to change it but feeling low for no particular reason can feel like a weatherfront that you're just hoping will move on. I agree that blogging is great therapy but for me I think I have to be on the mend in the first place so it's always a good sign when I step back into the blogosphere..there's a warm front moving back in :) These pics are really gorgeous particularly that last sun dappled one and I love the cut-out detail of the back of the dress.

  6. Eee I love that dress.. but I told you that in person. :) So nice seeing you and Jeramy this weekend! I was disappointed that I wasn't able to make it back out for Sunday's show- Tim said it was awesome. My schedule is finally starting to chill out a bit for the summer- we should go on a thrifting adventure together.

  7. Sounds like a lot of fun and I like the sound of the lone roller skater! Very nice dress, I was like that a cool dress and then the back just makes it even better.
