Tall as Trees

I've been living at my boyfriend's parent's house in Massachusetts until Ethan and I can get our feet on the ground and get our own place. Now for most, living with the parents sounds horrible, but Ethan's house overlooks a gorgeous pond (which is large enough to be considered a lake in my opinion) and hey can you complain with rent-free? I finally got my lazy tush out into the snow to take some outfit pics. My dress was like $15 from Forever 21 awhile back and has been so versatile and comfy. I'm also been loving these tights from NY & Co. Love me some polka dots!

Dress: Forever21, Cardigan: H&M, Tights: NY&Co., T-strap heels: Ciao Bella (found at Marshalls), Cameo Necklace: American Eagle

And here are some shots from this weekend, when Ethan and I went for a walk on the pond at sunset.

Seasonal Rites of Passage

Its officially winter! I went ice skating!!! You see, every season I have something that I do that sort of is like an initiation for that particular season. If for some reason, I don't complete that ritual, the season feels off. In the fall, it is apple picking. For spring its riding my bicycle. And for summer it is swimming in the Atlantic. Last year I never managed to go ice skating, so of course I was thrilled this year when I started dating Ethan and found out that his family lived in a house overlooking a huge pond. This summer we kayaked a bunch on it and today I had my skates handy and twirled around like a big goof with Ethan watching (he would've skated with me, but he doesn't have skates that fit. boo.) Oh well, had fun none the less. Here are some shots:

oh by the way, I am probably one of the most uncoordinated personages alive.

The bonfire pile Ethan and his Dad prepared, can't wait to burn stuff! Woo pyromania!

Wanderlust

My baby sister Christan was in a photography class this past semester and as a result had access to a wicked sweet and mad pricey camera. I stole it one day in early December and wandered into the woods behind my house. There I found an old abandoned house which had only the foundation left. Here are some fun shots from my excursion into the wild:

First off, a shot of the creepy Virgin Mary statue we have displayed in our backyard:

This is the foundation of that house I found:

Some cool rusty stuff and sticks:

Some moss:

And lastly an awesome looking stump thingy-ma-bob:

I guess my angle for this shoot was when nature takes over civilization. Okay thats enough artsy fartsy for today. Coming up soon, some of my thrift store finds! (I finally got my hands on a camera!)
