IN-SPRINGATIONAL

1. Leah Goren Scarf // 2. La Garconne Tank dress // 3. AA Nailpolish in Mount Royal // 4. Korres Lip Butter in Quince//5. Steven Alan Sandals // 6.Rayban Crystal Rose Sunglasses //7. J. Crew Straw Tote

Overhauling the blog and beginning to get myself familiarized with photoshop, finally. Wish I could be outside in the sunshine on a comfy patch of grass wearing this outfit doing so, instead of wearing sweatpants on the couch dreaming of spring. Soon enough, soon enough.

Lily + Jae Autumn/Winter 2010

I recently came across Lily + Jae's Autumn/Winter 2010 life style shots online and think it is pretty fantastic. The outerwear is perfect for the chilly weather ahead. There was frost on my windshield the other morning and its pretty safe to say that Winter is on its way. Yikes. Regardless, I figured it would be fun to share these pretty photos and almost cannot wait to tromp through snowy fields.

Seen on the Streets: Leather, Denim, Prints

This week's Street Style looks are all about the 90's with denim and leather jackets being the perfect accessory to printed shirts and dresses. Denim overalls and cutoffs also make the simple and comfy, look uber chic for this spring and upcoming summer.

Very, very,very fine house.

With setting up our new apartment, I have begun to hoard pictures of spaces which I love. Here are some of them:

Who needs stainless steel appliances and granite countertops when you can have this mint condition retro 60's kitchen?!

I want my office to look like this. Steve Martin album included.

Paint by numbers never looked so cool.

So simple, but I just love the colors here. Very bright and fresh.

I just adore this song, always have always will.

Well looky here!

These are some beautiful looks that I have come across in the last week or so and have completely fallen in love with their looks and their blogs. I wanted to share a few. Some you may or may not recognize ;)

From Left to Right:
1. Esther from the sticks: I found her on Weardrobe (p.s. I'm featured on their front page along with this pretty lady :D) and adore her hand sewn sailor shirt, red keds, and the fact that she is perched upon a super awesome yellow roadbike!
2. Stellate Reflections Flickr photo stream: I adore this vintage number, the lines of this dress are just so perfect. And who could resist a good floral or peter pan collar? Certainly not me. Adorable.
3. Doris-Anne from Feathers and Things: Another girl I found via weardrobe.. or was it lookbook. Whatever, she is just so pretty and her hair. Gah, I'm dying over here. I love this shot with all the blossoms and her little veiled cap is just so cute. Her little lacy number is up in her etsy shop too! Scoop it up before I do!
4. Rhiannon from Liebemarlene Vintage: Rhiannon is probably the reason that I started this blog, I was mesmerized by her photos, her pictures and just everything about her. Her most recent blog post about the first day of spring is just so fantastic. A reader sent her the beautiful frock she is donning (I only wish people would sent me beautiful things like that!) and her etsy found sunglasses are just so quirky and fun. I want a pair in the worst way. This girl can literally do no wrong!
5. Erin from Calivintage: Another girl who can do no wrong is Erin. I adore this floral dress(again with the adorable peter pan collar) and her Seychelles Booties. Oh and not to mention her awesome Where's Waldo? glasses!
6. Variacje:I came across this blog via my Tumbler photo stream. Her blog is in Polish and I understand not a word, but that is completely alright because her amazing style is fantastic. I love this look with her polka dot skirt, clubmasters, and her equally amazing vintage bike. I just cannot wait to hop on my bicycle due to this amazing photo.

In the Sun

Remember this post? That is exactly where the inspiration from this outfit came from. I adore this coral color and found the best camel highwaisted trousers ever. It rained for three days straight, I literally thought the Northeast was going to disappear into the Atlantic ocean. Finally the sun decided to make an appearance so that I could hop outside and take some photos by the pond(which I consider large enough to be a lake, but whatever, what do I know?).

How pale do my ankles look!?! Freaky stuff!

Grrr I want my hair to be longer so I can do a proper side braid!

ALSO Excitingness for you She & Him fans... listen to the ENTIRE album here. Its pretty fantastic, but really could I expect anything less from the adorable Zooey?

Welcome to Chic Street

Photobucket

Photobucket

From Left to right:

I have become obsessed with khaki, caramel, and camel mixed with pinky peaches, goldenrod, and chambray blue. These colors evoke such springtime in Paris, so much so that I wish I could be back there now hanging out with such chic people! I have inspired outfits planned at the moment, but its been crazy raining.

Speaking of crazy raining. Ethan and I went to Cambridge's Garment district soaked, where he then proceeded to watch me literally dig through one giant pile of clothes. I bought 5 pounds worth for $7.50. Worth it, but I'm not entirely thrilled with my buys. It was like finding a needle in a haystack. I had better luck upstairs, but it was much more expensive!

Town and Country

I was just looking at Tommy Hilfiger's Fall/Winter 2010 Collection and I have to say I want to immediately jump into these clothes right now.

In these looks I'm imagining tromping through the woods in the warm tweeds and soft knits, fallen leaves crunching under those beautiful boots as the quiet, first snow begins to blanket the earth.
Yeah, I just day dreamed about winter for once! Woah!

The below looks are more city, but nonetheless, very pretty and sophisticated. I love that sequined blazer in the last look! The belts and shoes really are to die for in this collection.

I'm also planning on doing a giveaway soon, so stay tuned!

Fashion is a Playground

Everyone must absolutely go check this girl out. I found her on Chictopia.com the other day and was mesmerized by her perfectly Parisian style. This girl seriously has got it. Her blog is in French, but even if you don't read french, you will be overwhelmed(in a good way) with the overload of her quirky, unique style and the magical french country and city backdrops in which she takes her photographs. Divine. Please do yourself a favor and check out Fashion is A Playground pronto!

All photos are property of Fashion is a Playground

P.S. I went thrifting yesterday and scored some awesome shoe finds! I'm starting to keep track of my inventory so I can get Rosemud vintage going soon! Finally found some motivation!
P.P.S. Thanks to Fabsugar.com for featuring me as their Look of the Day!

Jill of all Trades

This girl can literally do it all. Alexa Chung you are my hero. I think I could literally gush about Alexa Chung for Madewell Fall 2010 for hours. It is so sweet and romantic with the perfect amount of tomboy. I am sligtly reminiscent of my childhood with the most adorable Osh Kosh B'gosh overalls made for big girls. ( I think I am most excited for the overall dresses, they are so comfy!). The highwaisted jeans need to be in my closet right this moment! I am so over my butt crack hanging out when I wear jeans!

And the shooooooes. They are all so perfect. And its settled, I'm wearing my gray knit socks today!
As far as pricing goes, I'm familiar with Madewell's crazy idea of how much clothing should cost. I was in a store a mere week ago and found myself ooggling over a pair of shoes for $150 and a mini skirt, which was probably less than a yard of fabric for $80. Luckily these items look easily thriftable. Salvation Army, here I come! Somebody point me in the direction of the Osh Kosh B'gosh!

Opening Ceremonies

... Pendleton Meets Opening Ceremony S/S 2010 Look book, to be exact. Yes, I am at it again, this time I am projecting into the Summertime where I can break out my sundresses and madras plaid. I would love to be on this beach riding around on my bike right now!

I especially love all of the sunglasses she is wearing. Perfection.

As far as opening ceremonies for the Olympics go tonight, I cannot wait for the figure skating! What do you guys like to watch?

In-spring-ational

Since the northeast is anticipating a MAJOR snowstorm today, I feel it is only appropriate to go fake Springtime shopping online. Two designers who have been really influencing my Springtime looks are A.P.C. and Orla Kiely SS2010(Yes I am aware that these two designers have been blogged and blogged about. I don't care, I also think they're fantastic.).

A.P.C is perfectly pulling off a seventies vibe which is making me want to trade in my skinny jeans for bell-bottoms and my flats for some clunky clogs.
Above from Left to right: Cardigan- Forever21, Bag-Rachel Comey for UO, Bell-bottoms: Heritage 81 for Forever21, Clogs with pointelle socks , image found via Google image search Sunglasses- Forever21 Mustard Vest-Forever21

Orla Keily SS 2010 has this simple vintage thing going on which I am loving. These mint green hues make me want to just frolic in fields of dandelions. By the way, I love how the last girl's skirt clearly looks like she is one of the Von Trapp children with her skirt made out of curtain! I want one!

Below
: Mint dress- found via Google image search, Vespa- Um I want one??!! (found via google image search Diana Lomo camera- UO, I want one so I can take pretty pictures just like The Snail and the CyclopsT-strap heels- Urban Outfitters

Sorry to torture you all, I just needed a little escape! For all of you who are about to get snowed in, or for those of you who already are...stay warm and drink some hot cocoa with fluff! I know I will! Cheers!

p.s. If you are suffering from the wintertime blahs this video will surely cheer you up :)
